Holiday Party - Kodi/Gaia Part 2 - iMazing 2 - Luminar 4

It's that time of year again! Come join us for our annual Holiday party and meeting where we'll eat, drink, socialize and talk about all the tech you need to know. Plus we'll be raffling off some stuff to our members and rumor has it some elves dropped off some gifts for everyone!

This month's presentations will be:

Jerry Glacken will finish showing you how to create your own low cost open source media center using an Amazon Firestick, Kodi, Kodi add-on Gaia, and 3rd party services.

Bruce Mittelman will give a demonstration of the newly released Luminar 4, a full-featured image editor that adapts to the way you edit photos. Luminar provides over 300 essential tools to fix, edit, and enhance your photos with comfort.

Mark Astmann will give a demonstration of iMazing 2, the ultimate iOS device manager with capabilities far beyond what iTunes offers.

Cutting The Cord - GoPro HERO8 Camera - Repurposing Old Mac Hardware

Jerry Glacken will show you one method of "cord cutting" as a way to shed a hefty cable bill without sacrificing your favorite shows and movies. He'll show you how to set up your own low cost open source media center using off the shelf hardware, open-source software and 3rd party services. This will be the first part of a two part presentation which will be completed at our December meeting.

Bruce Mittelman will give a demonstration of the new GoPro HERO8 4K waterproof action camera. .

Louis Perez will give another installment of his "Magical Mystery Tour of the Web" which focuses on interesting websites related to a specific topic. This month's topic will be "Repurposing Old Mac Hardware".

NJMUG 35th Anniversary Party - Posterino - Card Pointers - Best Free Software of 2019

NJMUG is turning 35! From the Macintosh 128K to the iPhone 11, NJMUG has been there and it doesn't look like we'll be retiring any time soon. This month we're going to celebrate this monumental achievement by hosting our 35th Anniversary Party. It'll be a great night of eating, celebrating and reminiscing. And we'll also be raffling off some goodies to those in attendance.

Of course our monthly meeting wouldn't be complete without our usual presentations, so we'll be featuring the following:

Bruce Mittelman will give a presentation on Card Pointers, the app that helps you maximize the points or savings on every purchase by showing you the best credit card to use.

Mark Astmann will talk about how to prepare for macOS Catalina's new 64-bit app requirement. Mark will also give a demonstration of Posterino the app that allows you to easily create beautiful photo collages.

George Ajjan will show a retro Apple video montage.

Louis Perez will give another installment of his "Magical Mystery Tour of the Web" which focuses on interesting websites related to a specific topic. This month's topic will be "Best Free Software of 2019".

New Apple Products - nception - Cardhop - Sites For Learning

Bruce Mittelman will talk about all of the new products and services announced by Apple at this month's iPhone event. He'll discuss everything you need to know about the new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Prox Max, Apple Watch Series 5, 10.2-inch iPad as well as new details on Apple Arcade and Apple TV+.

Bruce will also give a demonstration of nception the iOS app that lets you create surreal Inception-like videos by choosing from a collection of reality distortion effects and color looks - all with live camera preview.

Mark Astmann will give a demonstration of Cardhop the app that lets you search, add, edit, and interact with your contacts in a fun and interactive way. Just type what you want and Cardhop will figure it out.

Luminar 3 - Permute - Downie - Rottenwood - Snagit 2019

Bruce Mittelman will give a demonstration of Luminar 3, an image editor and photo library rolled into one.

Scott Alenick will present three programs from Charlie Monroe Software: Permute, Downie and Rottenwood. Permute allows you to easily convert your media files to various different formats by simply dragging and dropping. Downie allows you to easily download videos from thousands of websites. Rottenwood gives you a centralized location for listing the movies you've seen or want to see, to mark them as favorites, or even to make notes about them, all in an attractive interface complete with advanced search features.

Mark Astmann will show the new features in Snagit 2019, the screen capture software that allows you to easily take custom screenshots and recordings.
