This month, we will be featuring the following presentations:
Bob Helmond will show you how you can archive interesting Web sites and articles as both an HTML archive and PDF so that you can always have access to the information even if the Web site disappears or the information is deleted.
Jerry Glacken will be showing a few interesting Mac Applications. He'll be demonstrating how to use Fluid to turn any Web site apps such as Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Pandora, etc. into an OS X desktop app and talk about why this can be an important tool in helping to protect your online privacy and security. Next Jerry will give a demonstration of Yoink, a small utility that makes drag and drop between spaces or fullscreen apps in Lion and Mountain Lion much easier. And finally he'll show, Permanent Eraser, the free utility that allows you to securely delete files from your Macintosh hard drive.
And for the iPad and iPhone crowd, Bruce Mittelman will showcase some of the new and interesting iOS Apps available.
Finally, Scott Alenick will give a demonstration of PDFpenPro, the application will allows users to easily Edit PDF files. PDFpenPro allows you to add text, images, and signatures, fill out PDF forms, merge and split PDF documents, reorder and delete pages, and much, much more.
This month we will be focusing on interesting hardware, gadgets and gizmos for your Apple devices.
The following topics will be covered:
Bruce Mittelman will be giving a demonstration of Sphero, the robotic ball gaming system for iOS. Sphero is the world's first robotic ball that you control with a tilt, touch, or swing from your smartphone or tablet. You can drive Sphero, play tabletop and multiplayer games, hold Sphero in your hand to use it as a controller for on-screen gameplay, learn basic programming, and even explore augmented reality. Bruce will also demo some Augmented Reality apps for the iPad. Apps will include Layar,Spacecraft HD, PopPhoto Interactive, Marvel AR, and IKEA Catalog.
Bob Helmond will demonstrate a USB microscope and how it can be used to to get up close and detailed views of any object.
Jerry Gherardi will be show off his SCOTTeVEST. SCOTTeVEST is a manufacturer of cool and innovative travel clothes with special pockets designed to let you take everything with you.
Jen Bissu will give her monthly "3 Things You Should Know" segment, with this month's items focused around our hardware theme.
Allan Warner will give a USB Trackball demonstration and show how it offers an ergonomic alternative to the traditional computer mouse.

If you've never attended a meeting at which Dave Marra has presented, then I strongly suggest you make plans to attend this one. Dave's presentations are always very informative and entertaining. We recommend planning to arrive early as Dave always packs the house.
This month's meeting will focus on Usenet, the oldest operating Internet discussion platform. Consisting of well over 100,000 newsgroups, Usenet offers forums filled with discussions on virtually every topic under the sun - from music, computers, cooking, photography, and much, much more. And it also offers access to binaries in the form of pictures, programs, audio, and video that you can easily download to your own computer.
To start things off, Jerry Glacken will give an overview of Usenet. From Usenet providers, newsgroups, news clients, articles, threads, binaries, and more - Jerry will show you how Usenet works and what you need to get started.
Next up, Bob Helmond will give a demonstration of MT-NewsWatcher, a free Usenet client for the Macintosh that allows you to easily view and save articles and binaries from newsgroups. Bob will also show you associated tools like UnRAR, MacPar Deluxe, and Split&Concat which are necessary for working with binaries.
Our next presenter will be Bruce Mittelman, who will give a demonstration of Unison, the revolutionary Macintosh Usenet newsreader. Offering all of the usual newsreader functionality, Unison separates itself from the pack by offering the ability to view newsgroup content as messages, files, images, or music. Using Unison, you can preview MP3 files directly off of a Usenet server, view images in an iPhoto-like thumbnail view, and automatically UnRAR/UnPAR/Join files.
Finally, Jerry Glacken will return to demonstrate NZBVortex, a small and lightweight Usenet client which makes it easy to search for files and quickly download them using NZB files.
Our next presenter of the evening will be Louis Perez, who will be giving another installment in his ever-popular "Magical Mystery Tour of the Web". This month's "tour" will focus on tutorial Web sites.
And finally, Jen Bissu will give another installment of "Three Things You Should Know" which presents tips, tricks, news, and other assorted goodies that every Mac user need to know.

And finally, Jerry Glacken and Allan Warner will be talking about backing up your computer. You do back up, right? Think TimeMachine has you covered? Maybe, but you'll want to learn why it is important to maintain a bootable hard drive clone in addition to your TimeMachine backup. This presentation will teach you what you need to know, the best tools for the job (SuperDuper, Carbon Copy Cloner, etc.), and how TimeMachine differs from other backup methods. If you value your data, you won't want to miss this one!
