Appcuity - Macintosh Security - More Lion Tips & Tricks - Dessert Web Sites
NJMUG meeting

Come join us at NJMUG's December general meeting where Bruce Mittelman will present yet another assortment of Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Tips & Tricks to help you get the most out of Apple's latest operating system.

Our Second presenter of the evening, Scott Alenick will demonstration of Appcuity, the shopping assistant program that works in concert with the Mac App Store to revolutionize the entire app selection process from search to installation.

Next up, Bob Helmond will give a presentation focused on security and your Mac, with this month's topic being "Passwords, Buzzwords, Etc.".

Next, Jen Bissu will give another installment of "Three Things You Should Know", our monthly segment which provides quick tips, tricks and how-to's.

Finally, Louis Perez returns this month with his ever-popular "Magical Mystery Tour of the Web". This month's tour focuses on "Dessert Web Sites".

And since it is the Holiday season, we will be having our annual Holiday party complete with food, fun and stuff to raffle off. As always a meeting you won't want to miss!

Our Second presenter of the evening, Dennis O'Connor will show you how to setup a VPN (Virtual Private Network) and why you should consider using one.

Our Third presenter of the evening will be Jerry Glacken, who will continue his presentation on Spotlight, the system-wide, selection-based search system built into OS X.

Next, Jen Bissu will kick off a new monthly segment of "Three Things You Should Know" which will provide quick tips, tricks and how-to's.

Finally, Louis Perez will return with another installment of his ever-popular "Magical Mystery Tour of the Web".

Apple's Dave Marra Presents Mac OS X 10.7 Lion In-Depth
NJMUG meeting

Come join us at NJMUG's September general meeting where Apple Senior Systems Engineer, Dave Marra will be giving an in-depth presentation of Apple's newest Macintosh Operating System, OS X 10.7 Lion.

Sporting over 250 new features including Multi-Touch Gestures, full screen apps, Mission Control, Launchpad, Auto Save, Versions and Resume, OS X Lion allows you to work smarter, faster and accomplish more with your Macintosh computer. Plus, Lion offers a host of new security features which set a new standard in OS security.

If you've never attended a meeting at which Dave Marra has presented, then I strongly suggest you make plans to attend this one. Dave's presentations are always very informative and entertaining.

Aperture 3 - SiteSucker - macProVideo.com - "Unusual Web Sites"
NJMUG meeting

Come join us at NJMUG's August general meeting where Bruce Mittelman and Phil Chaiklin will be demonstrating Aperture 3, Apple's powerful, yet easy-to-use image organization and editing application. Aperture 3 offers Pro performance with iPhoto's simplicity and allows you to easily retouch photos, organize libraries, share work online and print professional looking photo books.

Our next presenter of the evening will be Bob Helmond, who will be showing SiteSucker, the Macintosh application that automatically downloads entire Web sites along with all resources to your local hard drive.

Our third presenter will be Louis Perez who returns with another installment of his ever-popular "Magical Mystery Tour of the Web" which presents a myriad of interesting and useful Web sites. This month's tour focuses on "Unusual Web Sites".

Finally, Jerry Glacken will give an overview of macProVideo.com, the online education community featuring video tutorials and training for Macintosh applications as well as popular audio and video applications. macProVideo.com has generously donated passes good for 1 month's free access ($25 Value) to their training service and we will be raffling them off at the end of the meeting.

iPad Apps - SSL - Moom - Fantastical - Pictorial Survey of Computer Workstations
NJMUG meeting

Bruce Mittelman will be demonstrating some of the latest and greatest Apps for the Apple iPad. The first App will be ComicBook!, the full featured comic book creating App. ComicBook allows you to star in your own comic book adventure and easily turn yourself and friends in to comic book heros and villains. Bruce's presentation will continue with Dragon Go!, the revolutionary mobile application that hears what you say, understands your intent and delivers the results you want within seconds! The next App will be TourWrist, the free and open platform that allows you to shoot and share 360-degree panoramic images and share them with others via your iPad. Finally, Bruce will wrap up with TruPrint, the Cydia tweak that enables you to print to almost any network printer.

Our second presenter of the evening will be Allan Warner who will be discussing the various Web protocols as well as showing your how you can secure your Web browsing using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer).

Next, Scott Alenick will be giving demonstrations of Moom and Fantastical. Moom allows you to easily move and zoom windows using either your mouse or your keyboard. Fantastical is a calendar app that allows you to use natural language to create events. Combined with a beautiful looking calendar and a gorgeous event list and you have a calendar app that you'll actually enjoy using.

Finally, Louis Perez returns with another installment of his "Magical Mystery Tour of the Web". This month's segment focuses on a "Pictorial Survey of Computer Workstations".
